Executive Director's Letter

Dear Coach,

I hope everyone had a great spring season, and that you'll all be having fun on the courts this summer, either working with juniors, or improving your own games!

Look for some major changes in the organization next year as we attempt to reach more high school coaches.

We are considering drastically lowering or eliminating membership fees (which also means reducing benefits, however) to encourage more coaches to get access to the important information we provide to help coaches better work with young athletes.

If you have any suggestions on how we can improve the organization, please let me know.

We would like to travel the country doing workshops, but it's difficult even to break even on these types of trips.

We are looking for more industry support, but other than our great sponsors, Zone In Sports Marketing, K-Swiss and Wavex, there doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm for high school tennis among the powers that be in our game.

No problem, however; you guys and gals have been coaching almost 400,000 kids annually for decades, largely on your own, and have been doing a fantastic job, thank you.

The USHSTCA is happy to be able to do anything it can to further your efforts, and we will not be going anywhere, regardless of the financial challenges with running the organization.

Year two of the US High School Tennis Coaches Association has been a great success so far, and THERE WILL BE a year three and beyond.

Have a great summer, and keep coming to the site for issue of HSTC each month.

Steve Milano
Executive Director
