Executive Director's Letter
We hope you had a great season and were able to cull useful information from the USHSTCA web site to help improve your practices, drills and coaching.
As we head into summer, many of you will be running camps and clinics, and this issue of High School Tennis Coach© has two articles which will provide a variety of tips to help you better promote and run your programs.
Speaking of your commercial activities, the USHSTCA liability insurance program is now in place. In addition to receiving $1 million in liability coverage for your teaching of private lessons (absolutely FREE with your membership), we have also arranged for USHSTCA coaches to be able to purchase short-term policies to cover their camps, clinics and other programs at an extremely low, per-person rate. For more information, see the insurance policy highlights summary article in this issue.
We have had several requests for workshops this summer, and are looking forward to coming to your community. In order to get started, we will need to be contacted by USHSTCA member coaches who want a workshop in their area. See the workshops article in this issue for more details.
With the summer heat comes added responsibility AND liability, as athletes work out in often extreme heat conditions. Make sure to read the article on how to beat the summer heat to keep your players healthy and safe, and limit your exposure to law suits.
Again, we hope we were able to contribute to your success this season, and hope you have a great summer.
