Pass it On!
Do you remember the one or two people who helped you out most when you were just starting to teach? Their input probably still has a significant impact on your coaching style today, and that's one of the greatest gifts you'll ever receive as a coach.
One of the major benefits of membership in the USHSTCA is that high school coaches finally have a chance to ask their peers around the country questions that many of you face every season.
Our coaches discussion board is now up, and we've already got some interesting discussions taking place. Two of the articles in this issue of the association's e-zine were generated by questions to the board.
Please visit the discussion area of this web site, not only to take advantage of the experiences of your fellow scholastic coaches, but to help out others who may not have your experience.
As your seasons wind down, we hope you spread the word of the association to your fellow coaches at your conference, district and state meets. As the association grows, so will your membership benefits.
The association is currently looking into locations for our summer workshops. We plan to run these one-to-two day workshops on a break-even basis, with registration fees as low as $35, if possible.
If you are able to help organize a workshop in your area, including providing us with any lists of coaches in your area and letting us hold the workshop at your school or facility, we'd appreciate it.
Please e-mail me if you think you can help us put together a workshop with 10 or more attendees.
On another note, we hope to finalize our liability insurance program in the next few weeks. Please be advised that you are currently not covered by the USHSTCA's policy until you have been personally notified.
We hope you enjoy this issue of "High School Tennis Coach" and look forward to continuing to serve you.
