New
Magazine for Juniors
Dear Coach,
I hope you're enjoying your summer and taking some time to relax.
This month's issue of High School Tennis Coach has been replaced by an introductory issue of High School Tennis, which will be made available to high school players every month to help them improve as junior tennis players and athletes in general.
As their coaches, you know better than anyone what type of content junior players will want to read, and topics you'd like them to see.
High School Tennis will be available free of charge to juniors and part of the new, free Players area of www.ushstca.org.
Juniors will need to fill out a simple registration to receive their usernames and passwords, and they'll get into the site free.
Please take the time to read these articles (which have been adapted from previous issue of HSTC) and let us know what you think.
Opening up the Association's Web site is part of our overall plan to expand the reach of the USHSTCA, which will include significantly reducing dues (to between $5 and $10) in order to get more active members.
Please let us know what you think of the our efforts to "court" juniors, and any suggetions you have to do it better. Please e-mail your thoughts after you've read the articles.
On another note, if you coach girls tennis, see the front page of the magazine section or click here for news on how to apply for an equipment grant from the Women's Sports Foundation and Gatorade.
Thanks for your participation...
Steve Milano
Executive Director
P.S. Congratulations to USHSTCA member Anita Murphy of Maine, who coached the Lewiston High School girls tennis team to an undefeated season and state team championship. Great Job Anita!
